About Me

I’m one of those people who like to learn and talk about aging, death and dying. The more I learn, the more I understand how precious life is and how quickly it passes. It makes me look deeper into myself and adopt a mindful awareness of how I engage with others, my environment, and ultimately my own death. I live with a spirit of joyfulness in my relations with others, have a reverence for life, and a humility that sees service to others as part of my personal growth. I believe what matters at the end of our lives, also matters now, and that everyone deserves a good, peaceful death.

Aging and death are universal thresholds we all will cross. Emotions can run high when we face decisions we’d rather not think about. I like educating people about their options and encouraging them to take an active role in making their end-of-life choices by looking at the “what-if’s” that might happen. Making their before, during and after-death care plans and communicating them to those who need to know is a gift in disguise; it takes the burden of decisions off loved ones and frees us up to live the rest of our times pursuing what truly matters to us.

Let's Start with a Chat

Whether it’s through an email, a phone call or just on my social media channels, let’s chat about what’s on your mind, and how I can help bring you peace-of-mind.

My Vision

Changing how we think about death and dying.

My Vision

Changing How We Think About Death and Dying

My Mission

To reduce the fears around death and dying by encouraging us to talk about our experiences with and thoughts about death and dying, to empower you to create an end-of-life advance care plan based on your life values and choices, and to tell others of their decisions. These actions help focus attention on the time we have left to live and what’s most important to us now. The process is proactive, helping you plan for a peaceful death knowing you have lived well and left a meaningful legacy.

My Values
  • Promoting dignity and quality of life
  • Respecting your choice and values
  • Providing compassionate, heartfelt support and guidance
  • Seeing you as a holistic (physical, emotional, spiritual) individual
My Qualifications

I hold a MS in Human Services Counseling (National Louis University) with an emphasis in aging, and I’m licensed in Illinois as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (#180006019).

My experience includes working with individuals and families in community and residential care, being a supportive crisis counselor to caregivers and persons living with dementia educating and assisting them with difficult decisions. Since then I’ve received trainings and/or certifications to provide End-of-Life Education and advance care planning (Willow EOL Education and Planning® ) and as a Death Doula (Doulagivers Institute™). Older adults have held a special place in my heart since childhood.

My other trainings and certifications include Facilitative Mediation (Northwestern University), Eldercare Mediation (Mediation Training & Consultation Institute), legacy writing (Life-Legacies, Preserving the Past and Present for the Future), Certified Life-Cycle Officiant® (Celebrant Foundation Institute), and Certified Sage-ing® Circle Facilitator leading Cultivating Wisdom, as taught by Zalman Schachter-Shalomi (Age-ing to Sage-Ing® ).
